temporal spaces labelled by place and space; i expel myself from without. convergent meets divergent and terrain meets new troughs; ambivalent to physicality; ordinance surveys point to keys and nodes is a just a reflection of my physical geographies. i haven’t formed yet- a mountain, valley, lake, and brook; sand dunes and wildfires; storms disguised as harmattan. i am brooding to take shape. glaciers are where my feet lead me after I have discovered human geographies. i am not the dream.

summits beget submits and in all its begotten; there are granular solutions. campaign harder for the climate; march further for the change; write better for the environment; raise awareness like a volcano awaiting eruption; steward like you are the earth’s parents; raise the environment to be cleaner, tidier, better, greener, and in all the raising, let thyself heal. you are only human and in geography, that is a dream waiting to materialise in action. but right now, i am not the dream.

we are interconnected; the first lecture on globalisation, imperialism, superpowers, megacities. corporate corruption and chaos within diasporas. ethnic cleansing and conflict sprout out of poverty cycles. purchasing power parity submerged with the power of currency. we forgive the heartburn what trade centres gave but we want the continents we baptised with change. awake from the slumber of yester nights. new names (neo-colonialism and modern-day slavery) new names to old gods we dream of change; but i’m not that dream. i wish i was; but you can be.
d.
fair-trade we want you to remember your fair beginnings, shake the price floor; raise the price ceilings. quotas aren’t fun for anyone, and tariffs are beginning to look like mobile phone contracts (sometimes dodgy deals); gender-based violence; enough is enough. you are neither rod nor staff; let women learn, earn, work and vote. equity is knocking on justice’s door. but i am not geography’s dream. i’m only remembering what the classroom taught me.
