sunset

WORDS:

I stood under the evening sun,
thinking of things yet to come:
and everything we ever had
floated away with the lily pad.

that’s when the rain made its trail
and pain shoots in form of hail.
and if you ever cherish me,
become something more than I hold you to be.

and we breathed the air again.
and its vapour begins to sail
where happy-ever-after evaporates
and the sunset tells its tales.

I stood under the evening sun,
thinking of things yet to come:
and everything we ever had
floated away with the lily pad.
