Sometimes I Think You Are…

WORDS:

Sometimes I think you are your laugh; deep, hearty and wholesome.
then I found out that same mouth has been calling me obsessed; not defending me in rumours so I think you are not.

Sometimes I think you are your heart; soft, gentle, sensitive
then I found out it was beating for someone else; not me so I think you’re not.

Sometimes I think you are your eyes; I have not had the chance to gaze deep into them; I don’t know the colour, its hues or shape; not sure so I think you are not.

Sometimes I think you are your stance; strong, bold and tall.
then I found out behind the stature are insecurities when you told me you don’t know what I’m talking about; not so strong so I think you are not.

Sometimes I think you are; sometimes I think you’re not, but I’m hurt and don’t know what to do with these mixed signals.

Be careful though; the ones we think are not sometimes become and the ones we think are could easily be a silhouette of someone we never want.

But sometimes I think you are; something a little bit more.
